Zola was born in Brookfield, Illinois into a family legacy of artists. He was a precocious boy, feeling completing first water color at the age of five and his first oil painting by eight. He was further educated at the Chicago Institute of Art and later at The American Academy of Art. By 1978, his captivating paintings in the collectibles industry career launched feeling. Selected unanimously by Plate World Magazine readers as America's "Favorite Living Plate Artist" for six consecutive years, Zola unique Also won more individual artist's awards in the Annual Collector's Edition Magazine's Award of Excellence than any other artist.  


Donald lives with his wife and business partner, Jennifer, in a quaint New England town in southwestern Connecticut.
